Los Angeles, Beverly Hills Life Coach Susan Quinn
Use Your Lifeline: Get a Life Coach
After 20 years as a practicing psychotherapist, Susan Quinn (M.A., M.F.T.) decided to become a life coach. She still keeps office hours and sees clients in her Los Angeles facility, but another need also cried out to be met.
"People from all over the world were emailing me and asking if I could work with them on the phone," Susan Quinn says. "As a psychotherapist, I can't do that. But as a life coach, I can."
What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching involves helping people create and achieve goals. The client and the coach set an agenda incorporating values, building on strengths, and clarifying the client's current life and career purpose. She coaches them through small steps until their goals are acheived.
A life coach typically draws from a number of disciplines, including sociology, psychology, career counseling and other types of counseling. The coach applies mentoring, values assessment, behavior modification, behavior modeling, goal-setting and other techniques in assisting clients.
Clients often find that "knowing what they want" is much more challenging than the actual process of "getting what they want."
As a life coach, Susan Quinn can do much more than help you achieve your true desires. She specializes in helping you through all the twists, turns and bumps in the road along the way. She can coach you through transitions such as:
- Divorce
- Mid-life issues
- The break-up of a relationship
- Bringing new life to an established relationship
- Feeling stuck in a career
- Finding your potential
- Discovering what you really love
- Finding the right direction to take with your life
- How to feel passionate about your life
"One transition often leads to another," Susan Quinn says, "especially when we are really living a large life! Often clients of mine will feel empowered through our work together to leave an unsatisfying relationship, and almost immediately they get a better career and relocate to a place where they had only dreamed they could live before."
Newly Added - Couples Coaching
After many years of being a family therapist she went back to The College of Executive Coaching for a graduate degree in Coaching. Here, she was trained in the use of assesments in coaching. The Meyers-Briggs type indicator assessment is invaluabl,be for couples. There are 16 personality types, which each have their own inherent ways, styles of interacting. To transcend the difficulties and conflicts that couples have, the key is to understand your personality type and that of your partner. Once you have this insight, there is a shift. Each person through learinig this information becomes curious about themselves and the other person and how to know them better. It is this mind set that leads to growth, deeper understanding, and untimately to more intimacy in the relationship.
Coaching couples is very rewarding to Susan Quinn. She finds over and over again as she works with couples that each person simply wants to be loved and accepted for who they are at that moment. When that goal is uncovered, an atmosphere of love and learning takes over the relationship. This is where true growth and intimacy happen.
